BuddyBuddy is committed to preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform. This policy outlines our zero-tolerance stance, the measures we take to protect children, and how we respond to violations.
Our Commitment
BuddyBuddy has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including AI-generated material
- Grooming or solicitation of minors
- Sextortion of minors
- Trafficking of minors for sexual purposes
- Any content that sexualizes or endangers children
- Sharing, distributing, or requesting CSAM
- Any conduct that facilitates the sexual exploitation of children
Any account found to be involved in CSAE of any kind will be immediately and permanently banned.
Age Requirement and Enforcement
BuddyBuddy is an adults-only platform. All users must be 18 years of age or older.
We enforce this requirement through:
- Date of birth declaration at registration — users who declare an age below 18 are immediately logged out and their account is locked for 24 hours, preventing re-registration with the same credentials on any device
- Phone number verification — users can verify their phone number to confirm their identity
- Liveness detection — users can complete biometric verification to confirm they are a real person
- User reporting — if a user is suspected of being a minor, other users can report them and we will investigate and take action
- Cooldown enforcement — a 24-hour lockout is applied both locally on the device and server-side on the account when a user declares they are under 18, preventing circumvention by switching devices or clearing app data
Prevention Measures
BuddyBuddy employs multiple layers of prevention:
- No minors on the platform — Our strict 18+ policy and multi-factor verification process are designed to prevent minors from accessing BuddyBuddy
- User reporting — All users can report suspected CSAE directly within the app using the dedicated “Child exploitation or abuse” report category
- Immediate escalation — Reports in the “Child exploitation or abuse” category trigger immediate account review, without waiting for multiple reports
- Community Guidelines — Our Community Guidelines explicitly prohibit all forms of CSAE
- Account review — Reported accounts are placed under review and suspended pending investigation
- Auto-block — When a user submits a report, the reported user is automatically blocked, immediately cutting off all contact
How We Handle CSAM
When BuddyBuddy becomes aware of potential CSAM or CSAE activity:
- Immediate action — The content is removed and the account is suspended
- Law enforcement reporting — We report all known or suspected CSAM to the relevant law enforcement authorities as required by applicable law
- Evidence preservation — We preserve relevant account data and content as required by law to assist law enforcement investigations
- Account termination — Accounts involved in CSAE are permanently banned with no possibility of reinstatement
- Cooperation with authorities — We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations related to child exploitation
